Innohep Medication Information

Innohep® (tinzaparin sodium) is a prescription medication used to treat blood clots. This "blood-thinning" drug is designed to treat blood clots deep within the body, known as deep vein thrombosis blood clots, and is only approved for use in combination with warfarin, an oral anticoagulant.

Innohep comes in the form of an injection and is given once a day. Bleeding, increased liver enzymes, and bruising at the injection site are some of the common side effects seen with this drug.

To help ensure a safe treatment process with Innohep, your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history, including any other conditions you may have and if you are taking any other medications, including vitamins or supplements. This will help him or her decide if the anticoagulant is right for you.
