Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) Information
Pyridoxine is a water-soluble vitamin that is more commonly known as vitamin B6. This substance is important for a wide variety of different chemical reactions, including the metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipids. Because pyridoxine is important for the formation of hemoglobin (an important part of red blood cells), many people take it to treat or prevent anemia.
Even though it is a nonprescription product, pyridoxine is not without risks. For example, you may be more likely than others to experience problems with pyridoxine if you have had a coronary stent or have certain allergies. Make sure your healthcare provider has this information before you start taking this product.
