Ferriprox Side Effects

Call your healthcare provider right away if you are taking Ferriprox and develop problems like a sore throat, fever, or difficulty breathing. Although reactions such as these may be potentially serious, most side effects of Ferriprox tend to be minor and easy to treat. Some of the more commonly reported reactions include an abnormal urine color, nausea, and joint pain.

An Introduction to Ferriprox Side Effects

Just like any medicine, Ferriprox® (deferiprone) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Ferriprox. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list with you.)
