Drug Interactions With Pralatrexate

A number of products may cause drug interactions when combined with pralatrexate. For instance, if this chemotherapy drug is used in combination with certain vaccines, echinacea, or digoxin, it may increase your risk for infections or decrease the effectiveness of the medications. To help minimize your risk, make sure your healthcare provider has a current list of any medications and supplements you are taking.

An Overview of Pralatrexate Interactions

Pralatrexate (Folotyn®) may interact with a few other medications. Some of the drugs that may react with pralatrexate include but are not limited to:
 
  • Amphotericin B (Abelcet®, AmBisome®, Amphotec®)
  • Certain biologic and immunologic mediations, such as:
 
 
 
 
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
 
 
  • Probenecid
  • Salicylates, such as:
 
    • Aspirin (Ecotrin®, Bayer®, Anacin®)
    • Bismuth subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol®)
    • Choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate®), diflunisal (Dolobid®)
