Trental Drug Interactions

Several drugs can cause negative interactions with Trental, including certain herbal supplements, blood pressure medications, and diabetes medicines. Some of these reactions can alter the amount of the medications in the blood, possibly making them less effective or increasing your risk for side effects. Trental® (pentoxifylline) is a prescription medication licensed to treat peripheral arterial disease (PAD). This medication may potentially interact with many other medications.
Some of the medications that may lead to Trental drug interactions include but are not limited to:
  • Platelet inhibitors, such as clopidogrel (Plavix®) or prasugrel (Effient®)
  • Theophylline (Uniphyl®, Theochron®, TheoCap®, Theo-24®, Elixophyllin®).
